Fluctuate

Fluctuate, what?

All of the members of Fluctuate Therapy Collective obtained their master’s degrees from Seattle University’s Existential Phenomenological Psychology program.

We studied philosophical psychology because we wanted to understand the why in addition to the how. What we discovered, among many conclusions, is that the act of being human involves being part of a dynamic process of change. Said another way, our emotions and experiences move around as we go about our day. You are not just one feeling, or one mood, or one experience. We all fluctuate.

From our perspective, therapy joins alongside this movement in an attempt to harmonize with you. Our goal then is not to disrupt, or to stop this movement, but rather to help build the capacity to hold the fluidity of your experiences with self-compassion, understanding and resilience.

As overused as this phrase is, you do not have to do this part alone; as isolating as your experiences may inherently feel.

Our Values

  1. Movement - Therapy, like life, has it’s ebb and flows

  2. Equity - We are not better, we are not worse, we are human and yet we carry with us differing values and beliefs that must be held and grasped in an effort to feel seen and understood.

  3. Power - Power dynamics are always at play, rather than ignore them, we seek to recognize the points of power which are present in a therapeutic relationship and identify ways to lift up the power of those we are in relationship with.

A collective

We are not a group practice, but rather a group of individual therapists who collaborate under a similar mission, consult with each other on cases, and provide support and community in our work.
