“Life is only worth a damn because it's short. It's designed to be consumed, used, spent, lived, felt. We're supposed to fill it with every mistake and miracle we can manage. And then we're supposed to let go.”

— “The Psychology of Letting Go.” Community

About Me

I became a therapist because I wanted to listen and talk with others about the things in life that are often too difficult to talk about. Some of our most compelling stories, our greatest tragedies, our most beautiful dreams, they become trapped inside of us because we don’t have a space to share them- to let them go. I endeavor to create a space, where me and my clients can let those stories be told. A space where you are empowered to decide what your story means to you, how you want to carry it or if you want to put it down. Most importantly, a place where your story feels heard, because a story that has been told has the power to change the mind, the body and the soul of our community.

I graduated from Seattle University with my master’s degree in Psychology. My degree program specialized in an Existential Phenomenological approach, the study of our relationship to free will, responsibility and subjective experience. I was drawn to this approach because of my own interest in existential dread and existential crisis; I was also looking for understanding with all of the existential threats we experience in the world- climate change, pandemics and war. In my studies, I found myself drawn to areas of intersectionality in identity, how intersectionality can be impacted by traumatic experiences (individual, collective and generational) which make it physically and emotionally difficult to build a resilient concept of self in the world. I apply all of this with an integrated approach, built to meet you where you are at in your journey. I blend elements from Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Schema Therapy, Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and play therapy.

I am a non-binary, queer, CODA (Child Of a Deaf Adult) and fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) as a native speaker. Before returning to graduate school to become a therapist, I built a career in management and leadership development working at local natural pet retailer Mud Bay. My experience advocating for and creating safe spaces in the workplace, gives me a unique understanding of the challenges involved in navigating corporate environments. Outside of the therapy space I spend much of my time on nature walks and hikes with my dog, partner or friends. I love paddle boarding, swimming, yoga, dancing and live music. I also love anime, manga and I am a proud D&D dungeon master. 🧙
